So, the wedding is over, and you’re ready for the honeymoon

But wait! It’s far more expensive than you originally intended for it to be!

Don’t let this happen to you. Your honeymoon is supposed to be a special time between you and your spouse, so the last thing you want to be doing is spending all your time worrying about how much money you’re spending.

Luckily, there are plenty of creative ways that can help you save on your honeymoon costs.

Today, I’m excited to share with you how to honeymoon on a budget.

Decide What’s Most Important To You

Before you begin all the planning for your honeymoon, you and your partner need to decide what the most critical aspects of your trip will be.

Is it important to you that you stay in a unique location or are you just as happy in any old hotel room?

Do you want your food provided for you or can you be just as delighted purchasing and cooking your food yourself?

These are the types of questions you’ll want to ask yourself before moving forward with your choices.

If you eliminate the things that aren’t a priority for you, it will be much easier to find a honeymoon option that fits within your budget.

Honeymoon Registry

Are you dreading getting a new blender that you don’t need? I’m sure you aren’t alone in that one.

Instead of registering for a bunch of things that you don’t necessarily want or need, ask your family and friends to donate to your honeymoon trip instead!

This choice is probably one of the easiest ways to build up that honeymoon fund.

It’s a great idea to list out some of the activities you’re planning to do on your trip so that your guests feel like they are paying for something specific for your honeymoon.

For instance, if you’re planning to go for a romantic carriage ride, list this as one of the many activities you’re wanting to do so that whoever ends up paying for it feels compelled to give because they know exactly what kind of fun experience they are providing for you!

There’s no need to register for fancy china that you’ll be too scared ever to use.

Take it from me, the people that love you would rather spend their money on something that you want, rather than something you feel obligated to put on your registry.

Offseason Locations

It makes sense, right? If you plan to go to a specific location during a peak season, it will obviously be more expensive at that time.

Get creative and find off-season times to honeymoon with your new husband or wife!

Remember, even if you want your wedding to happen at a certain time of the year, you can always wait for your honeymoon.

Of course, it’s more traditional to go honeymooning right after your nuptials, but if you’re looking to save money you have to think of things in a long-term kind of way!

Staycation

Who says you can’t honeymoon right at home? No one! That’s who!

While a staycation may not seem as exciting as some of your other options, it can be incredibly relaxing and fun for all involved!

Not only will you not have to worry about forgetting to pack something, but you’ll also have all of your favorite things right at your fingertips.

The most prominent plus is that you’ll be saving a ton of cash!

You can also take this time off to explore more of your town, and maybe find a new special spot for you and your loved one!

All-Inclusive Resorts

If you’re looking to save money on your honeymoon, you should consider an all-inclusive resort.

Because these kinds of resorts offer everything you’ll need in one complete package, they often tend to be less expensive than other resorts you may be looking at for your trip.

Not only will you not have to worry about food, entertainment, or cleaning up after yourself, you’ll also save yourself a lot of money when you choose one of the many all-inclusive resorts that are available to you.

If you’re looking for a great all-inclusive resort, you should check out the Sandals resorts website.

There are plenty of wonderful ways to honeymoon on a budget.

You don’t have to compromise all the fun you could be having just because you don’t want to break the bank.

In fact, knowing what you know now, you’ll be able to have an amazing time and also have some money left for your future!

I hope you have a fantastic honeymoon and a happy bank account afterward!
