Don’t Miss The FREE And Dollar Movies To Watch This Summer!

Every summer lots of theaters offer FREE or dollar movies to keep kids busy and drum up a little business on those mornings that would normally have sparse movie-goers.

The movie theaters are utilizing their non-peak hours in hopes that you will splurge on popcorn and that you will see a preview for a new release and want to go back later willing to pay full price. Note that some theaters also offer discounted “snack pack” deals.

Important: If You Wanna Go Again, Buy Your Tickets When You Leave

In order to ensure you get a seat each week, you’ll want to purchase your ticket the week before you plan to go.

Even the FREE movies require a ticket to enter. You just go up to the box office and ask for the number of tickets for your party.

Snacks: Here’s How To Get The Most For You Money

I buy one large popcorn because those usually come with one free refill, and I bring my own paper bags (like the old school lunch bags) and once we get to our seats, I divvy up the main popcorn bag 5 ways (giving each, myself and my four kids, a small lunch bag of popcorn) then I send back a child for our one refill and I use that to refill our separate bags throughout the movie.

Typically the summer movies play on weekdays mornings and are slightly outdated. That means you can probably find them on RedBox, but I always think its more fun to see something “on the big screen”! Plus it gives you something special to do with the kids which makes a more memorable summer.

AMC Summer Camp is back. They are showing popular movies every Wednesday for $4 +tax (which includes the movie and a KidPack).

Movies are every Wednesday at 10 am all summer long (excluding July 4th).

Cinemark Theatres – Summer Dollar Movies

There is a $1 charge for each movie you see if purchased at the box office, or if you purchase all of the movies in advance you only pay $5 for 10 shows ~ only $.50 each when you buy all 10! What a deal!

Movies, dates and times vary by specific location, so visit the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse to find your schedule. Just click your City/State – it’s that easy! The 2018 shows start in May and run through August!

Cobb Theatres – FREE Summer Movies
(now CMX Cinemas)

These movies are FREE! Movies are shown on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays and you can choose between two movies playing each day. The movies start at 10 am, and doors open at 9:30 am. Find a Cobb Theatre near you and get the summer schedule for your local theater!

Georgia Theatre Company – $1.50 Movies!
(Includes the Brooksville, FL Beacon Theater)

The Summer Kid Show Series is Back for 2018! Shows start at 10 am every Tuesday and Thursday in June and July. Shows are just $1.50 and you can grab a drink for $1.50 and a popcorn for $1.50 too. Doors open at 9:15 am.

Marquee Cinemas

FREE Summer Movies!!

While Marquee Cinemas has not released any information for 2018, I’m sure this will be happening again this year. We will update the information as soon as it’s released. This is the information from last year.

Marquee Cinemas Summer Kids’ Series is presented FREE each week during the summer, from June through July 2017, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:30 am. In addition to the G rated movies, some locations will also offer a PG movie! Marquee has theaters located in Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and West Virginia. Don’t forget to ask about their drink & popcorn special!

Paragon Theaters

FREE Summer Movies!!

Paragon Theaters offers free summer movies for families on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings starting in June. Check your local Paragon Theater to confirm schedule. (Paragon Theaters has locations in Florida, Maryland, Minnesota and Virginia. )

Regal Cinemas

Dollar Movies On Tuesdays And Wednesdays!

 The 2018 Summer Schedule begins in May or June, depending on location.

Admission to the Summer Movie Express is only $1. Tickets available for purchase at the box office and all movies start at 10:00 am. Each week both movies will play on both Tuesday and Wednesday. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.

FREE Summer Movies!!

While Showcase Cinemas has not released any information for 2018, I’m sure this will be happening again this year. We will update the information as soon as it’s released. 

Attend a FREE Movie on every Wednesday just by bringing in a Book Report as your admission ticket! Download the Book Report form. (Children under age 6 and adults accompanying a participate are FREE and do not need to complete the book report for admission). Check your local theater for the movie schedule and showtimes!

Studio Movie Grill

Summer Dollar Movies!

Each weekday from May, 28th to August, 31st you can watch a fun movie for only $1. Studio Movie Grill allows you to sit at tables and you an eat while you watch the movie too! {and if you go on Tuesday, they have a crazy good $5 Meal Deal!}
The movie starts at 10 a.m. and you can purchase tickets online or at the box office.

Please note: Children’s Summer Series varies by location based on each school district’s summer vacation schedules. Therefore, not all titles will be available for all locations.

Xscape Theaters offers free summer movies for families on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings starting in June. Check your local Xscape Theater to confirm schedule. Seating is limited so arrive early. Doors open at 9 am and the show starts at 9:30 am.

Summer Dollar Movies!

Starting June 5th, every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 am you can view a fun kid-friendly movie for just $1! They also have $1 kiddie drinks and $1 kiddie popcorns available.
