It only takes five simple ingredients to make this delicious Basil Pesto.
In just a few minutes, with a couple easy steps, you’ll have fresh basil pesto ready to go!
- 3 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/4-cup pine nuts
- 1/2-cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a food processor or blender, combine the basil, garlic, pine nuts and pulse until the mixture is chopped. Add the oil and cheese then process until smooth and well combined. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
- Enjoy your Homemade Basil Pesto tossed on your favorite pasta as a sauce, spread onto bread and toast for pesto garlic bread, or serve with pita crackers.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container or place into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, remove the cubes and store in a plastic bag in the freezer for future use.
