However, if you’ve ever set foot in a Kohl’s store, you might be overwhelmed by the seemingly large price tag.

I’ve seen tops and dresses on sale for $80 or more! Yikes!

If you’re looking to get the best deal at Kohl’s, you’ve come to the right place.

I’ll share how to get the best Kohl’s deals so you won’t be wasting your money.

1. Sign Up For Email Alerts

When you sign up for Kohl’s email sale alerts, you will immediately receive some Kohl’s coupons for 15% off to use on your next purchase in-store or online.

You’ll also receive email updates about sales, free shipping offers, Kohl’s deals and promo codes straight to your inbox.

From time to time, like right around Christmas, Kohl’s e-mail customers will receive a Mystery Offer in their inbox with a promo code offering anywhere from 20-40% off, usually good for one day only.

To make the most of these, save your big-ticket items for one of these offers then combine it with a department code, free shipping, and Kohl’s cash and watch those prices crumble as the savings add up! Now that’s how to save at Kohl’s!

It’s just one of the best ways to learn how to get the best Kohl’s deals!

2. Stackable Store Coupons And Promo Codes

The Kohl’s coupons and promo codes are our very favorite method of savings at Kohl’s! As couponers, we are accustomed to the coupon lingo of “stacking”, but this is a concept you don’t find very often outside the grocery market.

But Kohl’s deserves a big thumbs up because they offer two forms of promo codes, in the form of Dollars Off and Percentage Off, and you can pile them into your shopping cart up to four deep! Yes, that is F-O-U-R (4!) codes that you can use at one time!

Now that’s how to save at Kohl’s and how to use Kohl’s coupons to the full extent of saving you some BIG money!

For example, take a blender that is regularly priced at $180 on sale for $100. Cardholders may get a 30% promo code (received via email or by checking promo code websites such as RetailMeNot) dropping the item to $70. Then, there may be a “Dollars Off” department code for certain items, say it’s $10 off $50 houseware purchase. Use that code to get another $10 off and drop the price to $60. Then, if you time it correctly, you could earn Kohl’s cash (earn $10 on every $50 you spend to use at a later date) or Yes2You Rewards.

Here’s a summary of how you can stack the discounts for some Kohl’s hacks:

• One sitewide percent-off promo code, such as 15, 20, 30%, etc.
• Department specific promo codes, i.e., $10 off $50 housewares, $10 off $40 Jewelry, etc.
• Use Rewards like Kohl’s Cash and Yes2You Rewards.
• Free shipping codes.

These stack up to HUGE savings at the end of the transaction for some great Kohl’s deals!

3. Earn Kohl’s Cash

Simply put, Kohl’s cash is free money that is earned when you buy Kohl’s deals.

You will earn $10 for every $50 you spend. Sounds like a gal’s dream, doesn’t it? Just make sure that you are shopping during times when they are offering Kohl’s cash to earn, otherwise, it would be a time when you can use your Kohl’s cash.

So you can’t earn AND use your Kohl’s Cash at the same time… the dates never coincide like that. You are either able to earn the reward or able to use the reward. Usually, the dates to use the reward are about a week after the dates that you earned the reward.

The best part is that the Kohl’s Cash reward comes off just like real cash. It is not a coupon that you need to spend a certain threshold. You use it just like using a $10 bill.

BONUS: To get the $10 off $50, you really only have to spend $48 (not the full $50)! Just be within $2 of $50 after all the discounts and you will still earn the Kohl’s cash. Boom! That’s how to save at Kohl’s!

4. Sign Up For Yes2You Rewards Program

Yes 2 You Rewards are not the same as Kohl’s cash. Nope. The Kohl’s Yes2You Rewards program is a loyalty program where you earn $5 for every 100 points you earn by shopping like usual.

And the points can be earned super easily: 1 point for every dollar you spend!

You will see them in your shopping cart when you sign in to your account online, and they will also show up at the register where you can choose to use them or keep saving! When you sign up for Yes 2 You Rewards you will be guaranteed to receive at least 8 offers a year, plus a birthday gift and other opportunities to earn more.

Don’t you love saving at Kohl’s?!!

5. Wedding Registry Rewards

Kohl’s also has a rewards program called the Ever After Rewards program. You earn 10% rewards on gifts purchased through your registry. You’ll save an extra 15% on the items left on your registry for up to three months after your wedding, free gifts just for registering. Plus, your guests can save 20% on a $100 in-store purchase from your registry.

That means if you receive $1,500 worth of wedding gifts from your registry, you’ll also receive $150 of rewards! This is how to save at Kohl’s bigtime! Yayyyy!

You don’t need to sign up to receive the rewards, you’ll automatically get them in your account when your guests buy anything off your registry.

But maybe you aren’t getting married.. what about having a baby or celebrating a momentous occasion? Those work too!

Oh, and another bonus! They have a Registry Completing Program which will allow you to receive 15% off items left in your registry. And you’ll have up to three months after the event to buy the items. Score!

6. Sign Up For A Kohl’s Charge Card

Kohl’s Charge Cardholders get at least 12 special offers of 15-30% off every year.

Immediately when you sign up you’ll get an extra 25% off on your first day’s purchase, and THEN you’ll receive another 15% off when your card arrives in the mail.

As you should be fully aware, I am not a proponent of credit cards and debt. When I use my Kohl’s Card, I immediately go right back to the Customer Service desk and pay off the entire balance using my Debit Card, that way I don’t have to worry about getting into trouble later.

Just because I love Kohl’s clearance, doesn’t mean I want to go into debt over it.

7. Price Match Competitor Stores

Some of you dedicated price-matchers will find this intriguing: Kohl’s will price match any competitor in-store prices for identical items sold in Kohl’s stores (not online). This is one of the best Kohl’s hacks!

Just bring the competitor’s ad to the store with you showing the current date on the ad and they will gladly match the competitor’s price.

Now, you won’t be able to use any other percent or dollars off discounts on the price-matched items, so you’ll need to pay attention to which way is the best deal. However, you will still earn Kohl’s cash & Yes2You Rewards!

8. Watch The Price On Your Purchases

Customers have two weeks to take their receipts back to Kohl’s and get a price adjustment on any merchandise that may have gone on sale after you purchased it. Some restrictions may apply, so don’t be shy asking an associate.

That means if the price of an item you already purchased drops within 14 days of your purchase, Kohl’s will pay you the difference.

The only time this doesn’t apply is when the item is (or was) a BOGO (Buy One, Get One) sale or if is a Kohl’s clearance.

9. Be On The Lookout For Gold Star Kohl’s Clearance Items

The deepest discounts you can find will be on Gold Star Clearance items.

These items are as high as 80% off the original ticket price! Combined with Kohl’s cash, coupon codes, or rewards you could pay next to nothing for these items.

When you learn how to find Kohl’s clearance, you’ll be saving some BIG money! You can even find some better deals on the second and forth Saturday of the month.

10. Know The Digital Price Codes

If you’re ever unsure whether or not you are getting the best deal, look for these codes on the digital price signs:

• “NM” (new markdown)
• “GV” (great value)
• “BB” (bonus buy)
• “BGH” (buy one, get one half off)
• S (sale price)
• 50 (50% off)
• PP (Product placement, which means the sale price is fixed)

11. Shop On The Second And Fourth Saturdays Of The Month

Each Monday, Kohl’s sends out an email with a special offer. Sometimes, this includes a coupon for $5 off a $5 purchase, meaning you can get something for free!

13. Shop On Friday Nights And Saturday Mornings

The best time to shop at Kohl’s is from 3pm on Friday to 1pm on Saturday because you can save you can save an additional 10-25% off the lowest price.

These are known as Night Owl and Early Bird Specials and the sales are available in-store as well as online.

14. It Pays To Be A Senior At Kohl’s

This is a savings opportunity that makes my heart smile.

Kohl’s offers a Senior Discount every Wednesday for seniors age 60+ to receive an extra 15% off their in-store purchases.

AND… that number can be stacked with department specific promo codes and other rewards offers, like Kohl’s cash & Yes2You! Score on how to save at Kohl’s!

15. Connect To Wi-Fi For Kohl’s Coupons

By just connecting to their Wi-Fi while in-store, you can get Kohl’s coupons! I’ve received a 20% off coupon but I’ve heard you can get $5 off or $10 off Kohl’s coupons.

16. Get FREE Money On Your Birthday

Rewards members get an additional discount offer on their birthday!

This year, I got $5 in Yes 2 You Rewards. I know it’s not monumental, but free money is free money!

And it comes with no strings (no spending thresholds) so I was able to get some Godiva Chocolate completely for FREE!

17. Check For Rebates: Above And Beyond The Discounts

Most people aren’t aware of this but Kohl’s offers rebates. And these are a complete bonus that are earned in addition to all the other discounts and rewards!

They are easily identifiable when shopping online because the rebate amount is stated right alongside item with a link to the actual rebate form. Just print, fill, mail and Viola! In a few weeks you’ll receive the rebate in the mail hassle free.

Some of them are hefty rebates, as much as $50!

Tired of losing Kohl’s coupons or missing deals? The app will manage your savings, rewards and offers! You can even scan your paper Kohl’s coupons and it’ll save them for you. Plus, you can scan items in the store to price check or learn more about them.

It’s easy as pie to use and you will love it because at a glance you will be able to see everything you want to know about your account and what discounts and offers are available to you.

19. Texting Saves Too

Kohl’s is also TEXT savvy!

Get an extra 15% off your next online order by signing up for their Mobile Sales Alerts when you TEXT the word SAVE24 to 56457 (KOHLS), get another 15% offer when you TEXT the word SAVE07  to 56457.

You can get a full refund back on purchases as far back as 12 months, and in-store credit if the purchase is older than that. That truly is Hassle Free!

21. Order In-Store For FREE Shipping To Your Home

Kohl’s stores have in-store kiosks (they look like a giant TV) located throughout the store that you can use to place an online order.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the store, check out the kiosk to find the item online.

In-store kiosks will take Kohl’s coupons, Kohl’s cash, and rewards! Plus they offer free shipping on any order. FREE Shipping! That sounds like some Kohl’s hacks to me!

22. Get FREE Shipping On Same Day Orders

If you want your items FAST, and don’t really have time to shop and pick them out at the store…. simply buy online before 5pm, select the “Pick Up In Store” option and it’ll arrive at the store in the same day with no shipping charges!

Seems almost too easy right?!

Here’s where the magic happens: if there was something you knew you wanted, but they didn’t have it at your store to be able to include in your FREE ship-to-store option, implement tip #21 (above) and order that item right from the store Kiosk when you pick up your other order. That will save you from paying ANY shipping charges!
