We know sometimes couponing can be confusing, and we are here to help!

Here at True Couponing, we receive questions daily about all kinds of things pertaining to couponing. To help answer your questions, we will regularly post Questions and Answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions we receive from our readers.

Today’s question comes from Debbie…

Question:

“I know this has to be really easy to figure out, but just when I think I have it figured out, I don’t!  🙂 How do you figure out how much in fillers that you have to buy when you use your RR’s at Walgreens? “

Answer:

At Walgreens, the number of coupons you use cannot exceed the number of items you buy (manufacturer’s coupons, store coupons and Register Rewards combined).  You CAN stack a store and a manufacturer’s coupon when available, but in order to use 2 coupons on one item, you will have to buy an additional item.
For example, if you are buying 3 items but have 4 total coupons, you will need to buy a “filler item” in order to use all 4 coupons.  Keep in mind that Walgreens also considers RRs as coupons, so plan accordingly when redeeming your RRs!
A “filler item” is an item you can purchase for 50 cents or less that requires no coupon.  Be careful when selecting your filler items!  It is not smart shopping to buy a 50 cent filler item in order to use a 50 cent coupon!  Make sure your extra filler item purchased is worth the savings of using an additional coupon.  We list filler items at the bottom of every Walgreens store list.
So just remember…the total number of coupons cannot exceed the number of items you purchase at Walgreens.
