Ingredients & Supplies:
- 1 Tablespoon Aloe Vera 100% Gel
- 1 teaspoon Vegetable Glycerin (easily found in the health & beauty section at your local grocery store)
- 10 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil (I use the Young Living brand because of their purity promise)
- 10 Drops Lavender Essential Oil (I use the Young Living brand because of their purity promise)
You will also need a small container to mix and store your bug bite gel in. Any container will work, but I happened to have something similar to these tins on hand that I could use to store this bug bite healing gel.
Why Peppermint essential oil? Peppermint essential oil is great for reducing pain and swelling. It already has a cooling sensation so pairing with aloe and glycerin will help keep that sensation for longer. Peppermint essential oil will also help to keep the skin from getting infected too.
Why Lavender essential oil? Lavender is known for its soothing properties and can also help reducing pain from bites and burns.
You’ll be surprised how easily this bug bite itch relief recipe comes together when you learn how to get rid of bug bites with such simple ingredients.
Directions:
In your small container, add all the ingredients to get rid of itchy bug bites and mix very well.
Keep your container tightly closed between uses.
After about 3 months, you might need to make more of the mixture if it gets cloudy.
See how easy this bug bite itch relief is to make?!!
To Apply:
To get rid of itchy bug bites, simply use a generous amount of this healing gel and rub it directly on your bug bite.
It’s a miracle, but there wasn’t one single person in my family that had a bug bite for me to photograph of us applying the gel. So you get to see the consistency placed on the back of my hand.
