“I just wanted to tell you ladies that I really think God is using your ministry!
My husband is self employed in construction in FL. As you know it’s been really slow lately. I stay home to home-school my daughter, but have a small home business which pays for her curriculum and a few extras.
Recently things got so bad our pantry was getting dangerously low. Bills were going unpaid. But I knew God had always provided for us before…and wouldn’t let us down now! I finally had to do something we’d never in our 23 year marriage had to do. I applied for food stamps. But I was determined to be a good steward of that money God provided for us!
I had been following your website on and off since I saw you at the Orlando home-school convention last May. But now I got serious. I have two wonderful neighbors plus my sister and mom and another friend who save me their coupons. That way I avoid any extra newspaper expense. I’ve tried to start buying things we use at the lowest price using your method of stacking store and MQ’s with sales. It’s been a slow process, but today I had my first really exciting savings!
I have a husband and son that are big cereal eaters. So I jumped on that 50% off Kellogg’s cereal sale today. I got to Publix bright and early at 7:15am. They didn’t even have tags out yet. The girl came by to put them up while I was there. I told her about your site and she was really excited!
Here is what I got:
- 20 assorted boxes Kellogg’s cereal
- 1 Gallon Publix milk
- 2 Sambazon protein drinks
- 4 bags M&M’s
- 1 box Kellogg’s Pop-tarts
Reg. total would have been $114.08
Store Savings of $44.91:
- I got 50% off cereal savings
- $0.99 savings each on $4/2 sale on Sambazon drinks
Coupon Savings $39.45 in vendor coupons and a $5 store coupon:
- I used 4 of the $5/5 Kellogg’s cereal MQ I printed off coupons.com last night
- I used 5 peel off coupons I found on the cereal boxes this morning. They were for a free bag M&M’s with purchase of 2 selected Kellogg’s cereals and one for a free pop-tart with another two boxes. (finding those was like an extra hug from God).
- Then I had a BOGO coupon on the Sambazon drinks I got off Facebook making them $1 each ($4/2).
- I then used a $5 off on $30 found in the Publix Italian week flyer.
The milk was reg. price $3.69/gal.
My out of pocket today was $24.72!!! I couldn’t believe it! I used to pay that for 4 or 5 boxes of cereal alone!
