I heard about this and tried it at Subway last week. I paid for someone behind us, an older gentleman who had difficulty walking and who was on his dinner break from his job (still in uniform). I noticed he was pulling all his money together to buy dinner. It blessed him as he was able to put his money back in his pocket because he didn’t owe a thing. He thanked me at the counter, at the drink machine, and as he left. It blessed my husband, who was touched by the gesture and the gratefulness the man expressed. It blessed the cashier as she was shocked by the gesture, and said how nice it was. It blessed me to see how many people were touched by one small gesture. But most of all I know it blessed Jesus that He was able to work through something so small, and demonstrate His grace. We don’t owe a thing because He paid it all for us, so let’s start spreading grace around!
(Oh, and when I explained the budget factor to my husband. I explained that couponing has made room in our budget to bless others – I am a TRUEcouponer!!!)
