With the price of gas skyrocketing and summer vacations on the horizon, we can all stand to save a few bucks on gas! Here's how you can do it:
First, use Gift Cards – Most gas stations offer different pricing, and the price on the sign is always the lower “Cash” price. When you use a Gift Card to pay, that enacts the cash price and you get the best deal.
Second, Get Cheaper Gift Cards – Publix offers promotions once a quarter to save $10 when you buy a $50 gas card. That is saving you 20% off your tank of gas!
Third, Utilize FuelPerks Program – Winn Dixie offers a program called FuelPerks. It allows you to earn money towards your gas at Shell Stations.
Fourth, Use Your Phone to Compare Prices – Use GasBuddy, YP Local Search & Gas Prices, Cheap Gas, Gas Guru, GasPrices.com or GasPriceWatch.com to mobily find the lowest price at a gas station near you (there's an app for that). It may save you an extra 20 cents PER gallon to go a couple more blocks up the road already on your route!
Last, Credit/Debit Rewards Card – Be sure to check the rewards on the credit cards or debit cards you have, you may be already able to save 3% to 5% on gas purchases. Or cash back bonuses. Designate that credit card to use for gas every single time!
Basically, there are ways to take the financial pain out of traveling this summer. We sure hope that this helps clarify ways that you can save!
