Summer’s not over yet!  Fire up that grill and enjoy these yummy BBQ Chicken Leg Quarters!

We just had some for Labor Day and they were delicious!

Barbecued Chicken Leg Quarters

Prep Time: 50 Min
Cook Time: 20 Min
Ready In: 1 Hr 10 Min
Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 8 chicken leg quarters
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 recipe Barbecue Sauce, recipe follows

Directions:

  1. Preheat a grill to medium-low heat and brush with an oil-soaked rag.
  2. Season the chicken legs on both sides with the salt and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken on the grill when hot, skin side down, and cook.
  4. Adjust the chicken’s position and turning occasionally, until chicken appears to be about half-way cooked about 10 minutes.
  5. Use a basting brush to brush the chicken legs with the barbecue sauce and continue to cook.
  6. Turn frequently and reapply barbecue sauce each time the chicken is turned, until chicken is cooked through.
  7. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 160 degrees F, 10 to 12 minutes longer.
  8. Serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
