Making your own party decor can be an inexpensive way to make your party memorable. This trophy is simple to make and a fun prize for a Super Bowl or Football party.

DIY SUPER BOWL TROPHY

My family is very competitive and we love playing games together. Especially when there is a trophy involved. And this was one of the easiest projects ever that my kids loved. You could even use it as a table decoration for a Super Bowl party or a Football Theme Birthday Party. We used it for bragging rights. Here’s how you make it.

DIY Football Trophy 1a

SUPPLIES

  • Square Plastic Vase from a Dollar Store (I found mine at the Dollar Tree)
  • Foam Football Toy (also super cheap from a Dollar Store)
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
  • Silver spray paint
  • Something to paint on (I used a plastic planter turned upside down in the middle of my back yard)

Step 1 – First, paint the sides and bottom of the square vase and foam football that you can see with silver spray paint.

Step 2 – Next, once initially dry (about 30 minutes) turn the items around to cover all sides with the silver spray paint.

Step 3 – After completely dry (approx. 30 more minutes) use your hot glue gun to build a big blob of glue on the bottom of the vase. Stick the football into the glue and be sure to position it at an angle. ***CAUTION** Do not squeeze the football. It will still be possible to squeeze, but that could “crack” the surface of the paint and then you’ll have to paint again with another coat.

Step 4 – I used a fat highlighter to hold the football on an angle so that it did not fall backwards while the glue was drying.

I was so amazed at how easy this was to make and my kids were excited for how nice it turned out! Please comment below if you make one and what your kids thought of it too!
