Sooner or later just about everything goes on sale. Knowing when items are at their lowest prices and buying them before you need them is a shopping technique that can save you hundreds of dollars every year on all kinds of items from groceries to gifts!

The weather is warming up, and while it’s nice to spend more time outdoors…we will still shop!  You can feel less guilty about those shopping excursions if you’ll keep our list below close-by. Now, go get some deals this month!

Best Things To Buy In April:

From the Grocery Stores

  • Eggs – We see extra coupons and great prices on eggs in April! Remember to buy your eggs early.  Fresher eggs are harder to peel when boiled.
  • Organic Foods – April 22 is Earth Day!  Look for sale prices and promotions on all kinds of organic brands.

In Season Produce

The cheapest produce in stores and at local farmer’s markets is always what’s in season. Here’s a list of in-season fruits and veggies for April:

Televisions and Electronics

If you didn’t get your dream TV during the Super Bowl sales, now is your chance!  March marks the end of the Japanese fiscal year, and they will be getting rid of old stock. Keep in mind the sales will be on “last year’s models,” but buying “last year” is THE way to save on electronics!

Houses

Spring is the peak time to buy a house!  Many sellers will be listing their homes for sale in hopes of moving during the summer when kids are out of school.  Buyers will have their best selection now.

Thirft Stores

Spring Cleaning makes for lots of donations this time of year.  Shopping at Thrift Stores this month you will find plenty of new inventory with inexpensive treasures waiting to be discovered.

Vacuum Cleaners

In keeping with our Spring Cleaning theme, the makers of vacuums will be offering sales this month. New model vacuums come out around June so look for great prices now as stores start to clear inventory for new models.

Cruises

Since April isn’t a big vacation month, cruise lines will be offering great prices to drum up some business.  It’s kind of nice to vacation when no one else is, too!

Tax Day Freebies

Mark your calendars for April 15th! No, not because of the dreaded Tax Day, but because of the FREEbies!  All kinds of retailers, online stores and restaurants offer freebies on Tax Day.  Look for a list of Tax Day Freebies right here on TrueCouponing.com in the coming weeks! (Here’s a list of Tax Day Freebies from 2014.)

Gym Memberships

Warmer weather entices many to move their workout outdoors in the spring, so this is the month to find deals on gym memberships. The summer heat coming!  You’ll be happy to have scored a great deal and have the option to workout indoors in just a month or so.

Cookware

With wedding and graduation season around the corner, look for stores to start offering discounts on cookware. It makes a great gift.

Tires

April is National Car Care month. Look for sales on things like tires, oil changes and more!

What NOT To Buy in April:

Here are a few of the items you’ll want to purchase another time:

  • Mattresses – Memorial Day sales will be the next price dip for mattresses.
  • Grills – Wait till June for a new grill purchase. Prices are high in early spring.
  • Patio Furniture –  The next big sales happen around Memorial Day. Need it now?  Try Craig’s List or your local classified ads for great deals on used patio furniture.
