One of the ways I keep my grocery budget low is by purchasing my produce at a local Produce Stand. For about 2 years I have been shopping at a Produce Market over in Plant City, Parkesdale Farms. It is family owned local business that provides fresh produce! Parkesdale Farm has a great selection of fresh produce,  anything from Avocado’s to Zucchini.

Thank you to Parkesdale Farm for donating five $10 Gift Certificates to our workshop last Tuesday! In addition, they also gave us a TrueCouponing exclusive COUPON!!! I can’t even stand it, I am soooo excited!! It is good for the entire month of November and gives you $5 off a $25 purchase! Print one HERE.

Parkesdale Farm Market is conveniently located off I-4 (between exit 17 and 19…closer to exit 19) at 3702 West Baker Street, Plant City, Florida 33563, (813) 754-2704. You can definitely stretch your produce budget for the month there, my hubby wanted to share with you the list below that shows a typical shopping trip for our household (but to be perfectly honest, you can basically fill a banana box for around $30…including a half-gallon of fresh Orange Juice!).

Cauliflower $1.49/ea x 2 = $2.96
Red Potatoes or Idaho Potatoes .69/lb x 6 = $4.14
Green Beans $1.19/lb x 2 = $2.38
Sweet Potatoes .50/lb x 3 = $1.50
Sweet Onions .89/lb x 2 = $1.78
Tomatoes/Green/Roma .99/lb x 3 = $2.97
Hass Avocados 0.69/ea  x 2 = $1.38
Cucumbers 3/$1 x 1 = $1.00
Cabbage 0.49/lb x  2 = $.98
Bananas 0.49/lb x 3 = $1.47
Romaine 0.99/ea x 3 = $2.97
Yellow Squash or Zucchini x 2 = $2.38
Total = $25.91
$5 off of $25
Grand Total $20.91
This shopping trip would last at least 2 weeks,  and make at least ten meals, that’s only $10.46 a week for fresh produce!!
