It's Time for Berry Picking!
Every year my family enjoys fun time heading out to the Strawberry fields to pick berries! We bring friends and last year we picked for about an hour and left with over 50 lbs of berries!
**NOTE: Berries are measured oddly. Some fields sell the berries in pounds and some in quarts. Here is the quick conversion to figure out the best price: 1.5 Pounds = 1 Quart

This is the “soft” U-pick opening, April 1st they will be opening the back fields. They also have a full offering of certified organic produce at to go along with berries. Don't pass over the Strawberry onions (usually cost $1.50 each and in my opinion, worth every penny!).

Tips for U-Picking:
- Bring LOW Containers (you don't want to stack the berries in a big bucket, it will ruin them)
- Bring Hats and Sunscreen.
- To pick the most, when you grab the berry, “snap” it off at the stem (kinda flick your wrist) and the berry will drop right into your hand. This is the fasted way to get the most berries!
- Many farmers stop spraying once the fields are open for U-Pick, remember that when “sampling” while you pick.
- Try to hit the fields first thing in the morning. That is best for crowd control and safer from the heat exhaustion and sun burn.
