It's FRIED GREEN TOMATO TIME!!!
Hunsader Farms down in Bradenton FL will be closing their Fields soon for U-Pick which allows you to pick 25 Pounds of Tomatoes for only $5! You can also pick the green tomatoes!!
The U-Pick hours are Monday thru Saturday 8:00 am-3:45 pm.
The LAST U-PICK DAY is this Saturday, June 8th. They will close for the summer and re-open the end of September.
They also have u-pick eggplant, okra and black eyed peas at $0.89/lb or $10 for a half bushel.
I went last year and picked their Tomatoes…they were delicious!! We also go to this same farm when Fall rolls around (in October), to “get lost” in the Corn Maze! It's a fun place!! {Mommy warning: they have ice cream on site.}
25 pounds of tomatoes is the size of a 5 Gallon Bucket. There is a limit of (15) 5-Gal Buckets per person. I would suggest that you bring some kind of bucket/bag but they do have bags on hand to lend (and always bring a hat and water).
