Want a Fun Activity to do today? Go Pick Organic Strawberries! Friends of mine, Charlie and Nancy Young, have an Organic Strawberry field over in Thonotosassa (FL) and they have an abundance of organic strawberries, so they have graciously opened up the farm again to allow us to U-Pick them!!
My grandfather used to drive down here (over 1,000 miles) from Delaware just to bring berries back to his friends because they are THAT good during this season!
Bring the family out to the field every day from 8am – 3pm now through Mon. 3/31 to pick your own organic strawberries for only $1.50 per pound! Don't miss the organic strawberry onions on the border of the field too. Those are my families favorite! (Bring a few plastic bags so the dirt from the onions doesn't drop in your car. Last year they supplied the plastic containers for the berries.)
This photo is from a couple years ago when I took our youngest to pick their berries. Even with little kids, it only took us a half hour to pick EIGHT pounds of berries! Yum!!
