Fox 13 LogoDid you catch our Savings Segment this morning on Fox?  We are honored to be a featured on Good Day Tampa Bay each Sunday to share our knowledge about coupons and how to get the most for your money!  This week's topic was all about return policies to prepare you for those after-Christmas returns!

Here is a little more information for you:

  1. Return Policies – Amazon and Best Buy allow returns until Jan 31st, except for computers. Best Buy will only return them until the 14th and it is VERY IMPORTANT not to open any electronics, because Best Buy is charging a 15% restocking fee.
  2. Most Generous Return Policies – PetSmart, ToysRUs, Walmart (for NON electronics) and Sears. PetSmart is giving a generous 60 day return policy. Toys R Us and Walmart are allowing up to 90 days and Sears is giving 120 days. BEWARE, Electronics purchased at Walmart need to be returned by the 10th!! Eek!
  3. Most Stringent Return Policies – Target is only allowing 30 days starting 12/26, so that means you have to return items by 1/24 unless you used your RedCard, then you have an extra 30 days. If you purchased an item at Radio Shack than you better pay close attention…and you might want to notate on your gift tag that your recipient only has FOUR DAYS to return it. Radio Shack did not extend their return policy so you only have 30 days from the date of your receipt.
  4. Return Strategy – Two key elements to saving even MORE after Christmas. Watch prices and have your receipt. If you find that an item is lower priced than you paid before Christmas, bring your receipt and ask for if they will price match, or if you need to bring the item back to get the difference. Stores will continue to price match if the item is priced lower within the return period. That means you still have the opportunity to save a little more!

Basically, we want you to be aware of return policies this season so that you don't lose any of that hard earned money you spent on gifts!
