A couple years ago my daughter Annabelle made the MOST special gift for me for my birthday…they are called “Open When” Notes.
They are little handwritten notes tucked inside an envelope that has “open when” directions on the front.
“Open When….” you need a good laugh (and then you include a joke or funny story on the note inside).
“Open When…” you need a pep talk or when you are feeling sad or need some love (with a note of encouragement inside).
I absolutely loved each and every one. It was like opening a precious gift with each new envelope.

Step 4: Stack & Tie with a nice big bow and give to someone you love.
Last Christmas we made these for my Mom, only each of us wrote a note and tucked it inside… that meant for each envelope, she had 6 personal notes inside. She absolutely loved it! (It’s especially fun to have something handwritten in this technology-laden world we currently live in.)
Plus, we had so much fun making them and competing to have the best note inside each envelope. It’s hard to think of something to write for: “Open When” you can’t fall asleep…
