Did you catch our Savings Segment this morning on Fox? We are honored to be a featured on Good Day Tampa Bay each Sunday to share our knowledge about coupons and how to get the most for your money! This week's topic was all about decoding that confusing couponing lingo!
Here is a little more information for you:
- MQ and SQ – Q = Coupon, so MQ = Manufacturing Coupon and SQ = Store Coupon
We color code all the MQ's in Red and we color code all the SQ's in Green because you are allowed to use an MQ AND an SQ on each item! Both of these coupons can be found in the newspaper inserts as well as printed online.
- SS, RP and PG – These are the short terms we use for the coupon inserts that come in the newspaper! SS is the SmartSource Coupon Insert. RP is the RedPlum Coupon Insert and PG is the Proctor & Gamble. Today we received a PG Coupon insert (view all the coupons inside the P&G)!
- The Road Map – The way couponers save so much time is that these shortcuts tell them where to find the coupons. So you NEVER cut a coupon that you aren't going to use! The Weekly Store List tells you what is on sale, then it will tell you where to find the coupon. It will say: RP 6/30/13, that means that that coupon can be found in the RedPlum from 6/30/13.
- WYB and OOP – When you are looking at a Weekly List, you will notice some jargon included with each individual item. It will say: FREE wyb (2) and use SQ and $1/1 MQ! That looks like German, right? If you read it properly, you will see, FREE WYB (When You Buy) Two {Items} and use a Store Coupon and a $1 off one Manufacturer's Coupon! See, it's easy!
OOP is just a common term used across the board with couponers, it means Out Of Pocket. It is the bottom line amount you are going to spend in total. Because that's the most important part, right?
Basically, once you know the lingo ~ it's really not that scary, and you are on your way to great savings!!
We will post this video tomorrow morning. View some more of our Fox Saving Segment Videos HERE.
