Did you catch our Savings Segment this morning on Fox? We are honored to be a featured on Good Day Tampa Bay each Sunday to share our knowledge about coupons and how to get the most for your money! This week’s topic was all about the *rare* Kmart Double Coupon Event happening this week!

ere is a little more information for you:
What are Double Coupons?, “Doubling Coupons” means that the face value of the coupon is “doubled”. So a 50¢ coupon becomes $1. And a $1 coupon becomes $2, etc. Usually when a store doubles coupons, it is for 50¢ and under, or 99¢ and under, so this is a BIG deal. Plus, no other stores in FL double coupons, so it is our chance to see how it feels to live up north where double coupons happens everyday.
Rules you need to know for Doubling Coupons at Kmart:
- Must Be A Member: You must be a ShopYourway rewards member. If you’re not a rewards member, don’t worry you can sign up when you get there! Or, sign up online to print a temporary card before you go. Make sure you connect your phone number to your account so you can use that at the register to check out easily.
- What Doubles?: Manufacturer AND Store coupons up to $2 will double! That means any $2 coupon will “double” to $4. Pay attention though, if you want to purchase an item for $1.89 and have a $1 coupon that will double to $2, you will NOT get that difference back or applied towards your cart. But it will be FREE! Pay Attention: You can only use (1) Coupon per item (either a Store OR Manufacturer), so Kmart does not allow “Stacking”.
- Limitations: There is a Limit of (5) doubled coupons per customer per day. This is tied to your Shop Your Way card, so you cannot trick the system. However, if you want to purchase more items, and use more coupons, you can, they just won’t double. That’s okay! Hand them the highest value coupons first, those will double, then hand them the rest, those will just deduct at face value. Some stores have been known to allow multiple transactions which would give you 5 more double coupons… so you might want to ask at your individual store!
- Purchase Requirements: There is a $25 in-store Grocery, Household or Drugstore minimum threshold spending that must be met in order to double any coupons. This is before coupons, of course, so you can spend way less!
Think Ahead: Kmart usually has other promotions going on at this time such as “Spend $20 on select items get $5 Reward good on Grocery, Health & Beauty thru 10/13/14.” so have the list of those products handy and your coupons ready. The two items you may want could be unavailable, so you need to have a backup ready. Or the worse scenario, you have $28 in spending, and can’t remember what other products would qualify to push you to the $30 mark! Don’t miss the opportunity because of lack of preparation! The items will be listed right in the weekly ad!
