Cheese Dipping Sauce Recipe
Somebody go get the soft pretzels ‘cuz we’ve got some yummy Cheese Dipping Sauce to eat!
So simple! Just 4 easy ingredients that I bet you have in your refrigerator right now!
Don’t let the word “roux” scare you! It’s not hard to make. The key is to give it your undivided attention and never stop stirring with the whisk. That keeps it from burning.
Don’t rush adding the milk. Do it slowly and keep stirring!
You could really use whatever your favorite cheese is. I love the taste of Sharp Cheddar so that’s what I use 🙂

Cheese Dipping Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cup Milk
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 2 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Allow the milk to warm to room temperature.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Sprinkle flour over melted butter while stirring to form a roux. Then cook for several minutes.
- Gradually add milk to the roux while whisking to form a well-blended mixture.
- Cook about 5 minutes until thickened.
- Gradually add in the cheese while stirring constantly until it is melted and smooth.
- Serve hot.
- If you would like to spice things up add 2 teaspoons hot sauce and 1 teaspoon chili powder.
